8th October- 1 day before performance!

Reflect what it means to be professional during a technical rehearsal?
During the sound and lighting rehearsal today my group and I were very patient and efficient. We respect the lighting and sound technicians and how much information they need to know for everyones individual performances so we treated them with the upmost respect. We were very polite and made ourselves clear and easy to understand.
Todays rehearsal went really well and I have also gained knowledge of the different lights and what they do and how lighting can enhance a performance on a stage as it sets the mood and makes the characters stand out even more so than they do already.
It is very important to be professional during technical rehearsals as they are solely for the technicians and not for actors, as they need to know the cues for the lighting and sound and when they scenes begin and end. We already know this so it is crucial that we are very co operative so that the sound and lighting effects we have chosen will run smoothly and in time with our cues.
It is also important for actors to be professional during technical rehearsal as it reflects well on the actors ability to work with other people besides other actors! It also shows maturity and good nature to be professional during rehearsal as we are providing someone else with information about our performance and are being patient and polite and working with their abilities.
Being professional is a key point to acting as you are representing yourself and showing people what you are made of, and if you don't act in a professional manner then that could affect your career as an actor as you won't be seen as a professional in the industry.
