Greta playing the manager, myself playing the receptionist  and Lucy playing the newsreporter

This picture is of the 3 people in my performance that are not sympathetic to homelessness and Unis' characters situation. We are all playing characters that abide by the laws of the government. However we all came to the outcome that my character has a change of heart and feels empathy for Unis' character and we unite. We feel this portrays human nature as we did not want to make all our characters motionless, we want a bit of compassion for Unis' situation too.

How did we come to those outcomes?
We came to the outcomes of our performance by working together as a team, sharing and interpreting each-others ideas and researching about poverty and unemployment in the early 90's. We found that unemployment was very high, particularly in America, but we have decided to set it in England as it is more realistic and we don't want to base everything on fact we want it to be naturalistic as well as we do not have American accents. A lot of our performance has been influenced by social status and how it mattered vastly in the early 90's, we want to convey how stereotypical people in the work place were back in the early 90's towards homeless and unemployed people. We have also included the great pressure people who did have jobs were under from their managers and how warped the government perspective was on poverty, and how rich people mattered more and were the more powerful class.
Another outcome we came up with was to include protesting and rioting as our research showed a lot of riots happening in the early 90's and how people wanted freedom of speech and equality. We all feel this is important to include in our performance as we want to show how the poor and unemployed spoke up and made a change.
Our main phrase that we repeat in our play is " WE NEED TO MAKE A CHANGE"
We feel repeating this phrase portrays the urgency and seriousness of our performance.

How are we using the song lyric and research?
The song lyric we used as a stimulus gave us the basic idea of our performance which is about poverty, unemployment, social status and freedom of speech.
The song lyric spoke about war, poverty, gambling, money and government. The song lyric gave us a lot of ideas, some of which we did not use as we tried them out and they did not quite flow or come together. But we built on what we had as a team and accomplished a very focused and productive performance.
The research we all did has played a massive part in our performance as we wanted it to be realistic and based on true facts rather than what we think it would have been like in the early 90's. Our research has taught us how corrupt the government was towards unemployment and homelessness in contrast of how it is today.
